This dozer is specially outfitted with a pipe laying rig.  These machines are commonly called a "side winder".  A large counter weight is on the opposite side allowing for a very heavy lifting capacity of around 100 tons. The railroad industry commonly uses these dozers for cleaning up derailments and constructing new railroad track.
