| N&W 611 opens the cylinder angle
cocks to drain out water as it arrives in South Buffalo on a deadhead move
(no passengers) for the upcoming round trip excursion to Erie, PA.
Also worth noting is that five different rail lines can be seen in this
shot. From left to right; CSX (ex-B&O), Norfolk Southern (ex-N&W),
Buffalo Southern shortline (ex-Erie), Conrail (ex-NYC), and last is the
bridge over the tracks in the background is the South Buffalo shortline,
which switches the local steel mills and the Ford Stamping Plant in
Hamburg, NY. |
